Wayfare Studio is downloading
Open the downloaded file and drag Wayfare Studio into Applications. First time: open the app. The Mac stops it with a warning that it can’t be verified (the app isn’t notarized with Apple yet). Go to System Settings → Privacy & Security, click “Open Anyway” at the bottom and confirm. From then on it opens normally. On older macOS, right-click → Open is enough. Wayfare Studio opens in its own window. Drop your clips onto it — it makes the project for you. Prefer no warning? Paste this into Terminal (Applications → Utilities) instead:

If the Mac says the app is damaged, run this in Terminal: xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine "/Applications/Wayfare Studio.app"

Run the downloaded installer. It installs for your user, no administrator rights needed. Windows SmartScreen warns because the program isn’t signed yet: click “More info”, then “Run anyway”. Wayfare Studio opens in its own window; its icon stays in the taskbar tray (quit it there). Drop your clips onto it — it makes the project for you. Prefer no SmartScreen warning? Paste this into PowerShell (Start menu → PowerShell) instead:

Open the downloaded .apk file. Android asks whether to allow installing from this source (your browser): allow it. On first launch allow access to all files, so the studio can see the clips in your phone’s folders. A project is a folder with clips (for example DCIM/Camera or a Wayfare folder). Rendering runs on the phone, so it is slower than on a computer. Want Wayfare to update itself? Add to Obtainium : installs Wayfare from GitHub and keeps it up to date by itself (install Obtainium first).

It runs on Macs with Apple silicon (macOS 12 or later), on 64-bit Windows 10 or later and on Android 8 or later. There is no Linux version yet.
